Setup Schedule: Activities
You use the Activities tab to define the activities that you want to schedule.
Mining is a pre-defined activity and is the only mandatory activity. All other activities are optional. Ancillary activities that should be considered for scheduling are activities that are resource constrained and activities that effect when mining can occur.
You use the 2D Canvas to facilitate creating, sequencing, and managing your activities.
Ancillary activity scheduling in GEOVIA MineSched is based on resource and, like all scheduling in MineSched, resource levelling is carried out automatically by the scheduling engine. Ancillary activities are scheduled at the same time as the mining activity.
Two examples of activity scheduling are provided in the MineSched demonstration data. One is an application of underground open stoping, ug_activities, with drilling, blasting, barricading, cement backfill, and sand backfill. The other is an application of surface mining, pit_activities, with drilling and blasting.
Activity scheduling results are shown in the Dashboard and in Publish Results. In the Dashboard, activities can be displayed in charts and reports, in the Gantt chart, and in the Animation Canvas.
